If you are owner of a Windows smartphone, you would probably expect the update of Windows Phone 8.1 or, you have already tried the Developer Preview version of the new operating system.
Finally, the new Microsoft owner announced that they started the program to update Windows Phone 8.1, the first phones to be updated being Lumia 625 and Lumia 925.
The only Nokia phones that currently use the full software package which includes the Windows Phone 8.1 update are Lumia 930 and Lumia 630, even recent models such as the Lumia Icon being limited to Windows Phone 8 and older improvements in the Black upgrading version.
In an announcement made yesterday evening, Microsoft announced that it has started the official program to update the Windows Phone 8.1 operating system and to Nokia Cyan, the first Nokia terminals to get it are the Lumia 625 and Lumia 925.
Windows Phone 8.1 brings a number of important changes, such as Action Center, an interface with screen backgrounds and better multitasking control, better keyboard that offers tracing, full local search, calendar and camera apps that have been improved, a faster browser based on Internet Explorer 11 code and a lot more stuff.
The Nokia Cyan update brings in addition an improved audio equalizer, audio recording Dolby Digital Plus 5.1 for the high end terminals, more control options to adjust the parameters of the screen and a free update from Nokia Drive to Nokia Drive+ for the phones Lumia 520, 525, 620 and 630.
The two models that will receive the update in the first place are Lumia 625 and Lumia 925, models which are capable of being updated starting today.
As usual, Microsoft offers a page where you can track the status of updates for all the Lumia terminals currently using Windows Phone 8. The upgrade will be available during the next week also for the Lumia terminals 520, 525, 620, 720, 820, 920, 1020, 1320 and 1520.
