Sony is preparing to return to the old plan – launching a flagship every 6 months. Although Sony Xperia Z4 has not been released yet, there are out already the first info on Sony Xperia Z5, Sony Xperia Z5 Compact and Sony Xperia Z5 Ultra.
According to the report, Xperia Z5 and Z5 Ultra will have this Snapdragon 820 processor. As for Z5 Compact, the chosen processor is not known yet. Also, Xperia Z5 Ultra, the one which has dimensions of a phablet, will be the first Sony model to come with fingerprint sensor.
Sony seems to choose Ultrasonic Sense ID by Qualcomm for this product. Unlike the Z4, which will come with a screen resolution of 1440 x 2560 in some markets, Xperia Z5 and Xperia Z5 Ultra will both have a QHD screen when in all regions will be launched and both phones will come with 4GB of RAM.
The new line will benefit from new cameras, although it won’t have a optical stabilizer. So Xperia Z4 will be launched by the middle of this year, but Sony goes back to their past strategy, having the launch of a flagship every 6 months.
Xperia Z5 would launch either at the end of this year or in January 2016, if the Snapdragon 820 processor will not be ready for mass production, in time for a launch in the last quarter of 2015.
