After I presented the new range of tablets from Samsung, we recently tested the Samsung Tab 3 7 inch entry model.
The new tablet has a new design, a dual-core processor and is the Samsung response to the avalanche of low cost models that were recently launched .
Design and materials
The tablet has a design inspired by the Galaxy S3 phone, just like most products recently launched by Samsung.
Samsung Tab 3 is quite thin and very light, and the materials used ensure proper support while working with this tablet. At the bottom we have 2 speakers and HDMI connection data and the card slot is on the side.
After a few tests, I admitted that it is a visible progress from the previous series that had some flaws.
Display and touch-screen
Brightness is very good and the touch screen reacts faster even if you barely touch it with the tip of your finger. Unfortunately the resolution is still 1024 x 600, but this does not bother you very much. A small minus of the screen is the high reflectivity when we have an artificial light source applied directly to the screen.
Video review of Sasmsung Galaxy Tab 3 7”
Samsung Galaxy Tab 3 has a dual-core processor (clocked at 1,7 Ghz ) from Marvel, and 1 GB of RAM.I have tested a few applications, and they are running without any problems, but on some complex games loading is carried out pretty hard, and we may encounter blockage.
Internal memory of the tablet is another problem, we have two options: 8 GB or 16 Gb of internal memory.
The 8 GB model is at its limit with the OS, a few apps and some multimedia files installed. Using a 16-32 GB micro SD card to save space is the right choice in this case.
Android and Apps
As operating system, Samsung Galaxy Tab 3 7”comes with Android 4.1.2 and the well-known Touch Wiz interface.
It also includes applications such as S Voice (- can use voice commands to interact with the tablet) or Polaris Office (similar to Microsoft Office and compatible with Word, Excel and Power Point files).
Overall, Samsung Galaxy Tab 3 is a good tablet but is not perfect . The display is the major improvement, and the design of the tablet is ergonomic and fits the Samsung line of products . The price is reasonable-the Tab 3 costs around 200 $, just like the Tab 2 or Asus Memo Pad.
