Huawei has been making reasonably priced smartphones for quite some time now. The Huawei Honor 9 is their latest model, released in June of 2017. This smartphone has the Kirin 960 chipset paired up with 6GB of RAM. The device ships with the Android 7-based EMUI 5, and sells for about $500 U.S. dollars.
It comes with an upgraded dual-camera setup on the back which has one 20MP monochrome sensor and one regular 12MP shooter, which is the same setup as the Huawei P10. The camcorder is 3840×2160 (4K), 1920×1080 (1080p HD) and feature time-lapse video, digital image stabilization, video calling and video sharing.
The shooting modes are burst mode, high dynamic range mode (HDR), panorama, macro mode and scenes. The Front-facing camera is 8 megapixels. The hardware features are dual-camera (20-megapixel), autofocus (Phase detection).
The display on the Huawei Honor 9 is LTPS IPS LCD capacitive touchscreen, with 16M colors. The software features are touch to focus, face detection, Self-timer, Digital zoom, and Geo tagging. The battery is not user replaceable and is 3200 mAh. It has fast battery charging with 40% in 30 minutes. It comes in Glacier Grey, Sapphire Blue, Midnight Black, and Gold for colors.
The storage expansion is very good with microSD, microSDHC and microSDXC up to 256 GB. Other features are voice dialing, voice commands and voice recording. The Huawei Honor 9 has a loudspeaker, a 3.55mm jack and has Vibration; MP3, WAV ringtones for alert types. All in all mostly pros here with this smartphone and not a lot of cons that we can see.
