The HTC U Play is the latest smartphone on the market from HTC. Released in February of 2017, the U Play goes for about $425 at Amazon at this time.
This smartphone is 5.75 x 2.87 x 0.31 inches in size and weighs just over 5 ounces. The HTC U Play comes with a super LCD capacitive touchscreen, has 16M colors, and a pixel resolution of 1080 x 1920 pixels. It has
64 GB of storage, 4 GB of RAM, microSD card, and up to 256 GB (uses SIM 2 slot).
The cameras are of excellent quality, with a 16MP for both the front and rear cameras. It comes in Brilliant Black, Ice White, Cosmetic Pink and Sapphire Blue colors. Just like the prior smartphone from HTC, the Ultra, the HTC U Play comes with HTC Sense Companion. This will assist the user in many ways, including updating them on battery status and if it will or won’t make it through a long trip/journey.
There is a 2-tone LED flash for low-light areas. There is no head-phone jack on this smartphone. However it does employs USB-C earphones that can adapt to a person’s ear structure using state-of-the-art ultrasonic technology.
The body of this smartphone is of liquid glass and is very beautiful, however quite slippery. A phone case is highly recommended with this phone. The screen is protected with Gorilla glass to help protect the phone in case of an untimely drop. The phone is smooth and responsive and you will not detect any lag while browsing/moving quickly through screens.
A little bit of a drawback to this otherwise-excellent smartphone is that it uses Android OS version 6.0 (Marshmallow). We were hoping for a new version of the Os. Please check out dozens more smartphone reviews
