In a recent New York event, the Taiwanese manufacturer introduced a new Android smartphone called Acer Liquid X2.
Even if for the moment some important details about the new model are unknown, it reveals quite clearly the path Acer follows in the smartphone segment, one where competition is very strong and the price plays a crucial role.
Liquid X2 manages to stand out through some interesting features that are hardly found in the portfolios of the rivals: it is an Android smartphone with a diagonal of 5.5 “- which features a 4,000 mAh battery and 3 slots for SIM cards.
Specifications: 5.5 ” screen, has HD resolution, octa-core 64-bit chipset, main camera has 13 MP, also 13 MP front camera, battery of 4,000 mAh Li-Ion, and 3 SIM slots.
The Full Acer Liquid X2 specs are very impressive indeed.
Acer Liquid X2 relies on a display of 5.5 “, but the manufacturer has limited at saying only that it has a HD resolution (1280 × 720 pixels), without stating the technology used for the panel. There are also relatively few details about the hardware platform, since the only information provided by Acer refers to the presence of a 64bit octa-core chipset. Therefore, it may be a Qualcomm chipset or, most likely, one made by their co-nationals from MediaTek. The main camera has 13 MP and a F1.8 aperture, like the one on the future of LG G4, so, there are prerequisites for good quality images. Most likely, it will be capable of recording in Full HD.
On top of that, Acer has given special attention to selfie fans, so, the secondary front camera also benefits from a 13 MP sensor. One of the strengths of the phone will be though the Li-Ion battery with a generous capacity of 4,000 mAh.
The manufacturer has not explicitly mentioned the autonomy yet, but the capacity is 1000-1500 mAh higher compared to other top smartphones in the market, so we can expect a range of up to 2 days. Dual-SIM feature of phones is appreciated by a wide range of users, so Acer Liquid X2 is a step forward on this matter too, as it can operate with three SIM cards simultaneously.
Regarding hardware specifications, Acer Liquid smartphone X2 is not a model to compete with the top reference models such as the HTC One M9 or Samsung Galaxy S6.
However, the phone has a well-established target audience, which consists of active people who need as much autonomy as possible, preferably 2 days, and use multiple phone numbers, possibly one for business and a personal one. For such people, Liquid X2 should certainly be an option, but this also depends on price.
